PROGRESS aims to strengthen a wider access for citizens to renewable energy (RE) production and utilization in Serbia, Romania, Hungary and ltaly. Through this, it addresses mayor issues of energy security including energy poverty and contributes to achieving the EUs climate targets, concretely to achieving the objectives of the EU "Fit for 55" package and the REPowerEU plan with tangible results in climate protection and mitigation of the effects of global warming at local and regional levels. These results will be fully aligned with the climate and energy strategies of the countries involved as well as with the goals of the European Green Deal and the European Climate Act, ensuring compliance with future European directives, accelerating the sustainable energy transition in all participating areas.

This will be achieved by engaging the members of communities to take the necessary steps to evolve from energy consumers to prosumers. Increased awareness regarding RE opportunities as well as the communities potential role in using these opportunities and strengthened capacities to set up the necessary governance and management structures are important steps on this path.

For this, the project aims to:

• assess present energy-related conditions in each partner region; assess the level of awareness and readiness of citizens and communities related to RE;
• in- crease the level of awareness and readiness through capacity building and knowledge transfer by collecting and disseminating existing experiences and innovative solutions;
• undertake "governance" steps to enlarge RE access by promoting and - as much as possible - laying the ground for setting up RE Communities/other kinds of prosumer aggregation.Slot Gacor
