Religious Values
Vas County once belonged to the diocese of Győr, established by King Stephen I. at the beginning of the second millennium (before 1009) right up until 1777. The most important cleric organisation of vas County was the chapter of Vasvár, which carried out activities of ratification. Empress Marie Therese established the diocese of Szombathely in 1777.
